Horse Farm along BWI Bike Trail (Linthicum, MD)

This location is very close to where I live. We do not actually at the horse farm, just along the BWI bike trail around the farm. There are large fenced-in areas where the horses are kept with grassy areas in front where I will shoot. We can also take a short walk along the trail to an overlook of the airport. This spot offers a nice open grassy area that is a great blank canvas for photos.

Kinder Farm Park (Severna Park, MD)

A very popular location for photography sessions, Kinder Farm Park offers farm buildings, animals, a small pond and a large playground. There are trees that offer foliage, open fields, an old barn with aged wood and lots of farm animals.

Patterson Park (Baltimore City)

Patterson Park is in the Canton neighborhood of Baltimore and is great for an outdoorsy session with a water feature. It is a large park with beautiful trees and a charming pond. The pond has a short walk around it that includes a boardwalk, tall bamboo and a small garden area. There are often ducks visiting the pond and nearby is a large pagoda and open areas. Patterson Park offers a wide variety of backdrops for sessions.

Mt. Vernon (Baltimore City)

A very charming Baltimore City neighborhood, Mt. Vernon offers a gorgeous city backdrop for portrait sessions. With beautiful architecture, including a Washington monument, neutral marble stones, a gothic church and a small tree-lined park with a pond, there are so many options to create a photo gallery with diverse backdrops within a very short walking distance.

US Naval Academy (Annapolis, MD)

The Naval Academy is free and open to the public. A beautiful historic Maryland location, you can find stunning classic architecture, beautiful foliage and water backdrops. There are countless areas within short walking distance to offer a varied and visually-interesting backdrop for your session. There is street parking or a parking garage within a 10-minute walk of the Naval Academy. Be sure to check for boat show and other event dates to ensure you leave enough time to find parking or aren’t booking your session on a day when things will be too crowded. Also important - bring your photo ID! You will not be permitted to enter the Academy grounds without it.

Sandy Point State Park (Annapolis, MD)

Be prepared to take your shoes off and get a little sandy (or even wet) on the beaches of Sandy Point State Park. This lovely public park offers both a perfect beach backdrop and a beautiful wooded area for a well-rounded photo location. The park gets crowded, especially during the summer high season, so photography is limited to off-peak hours. This works to your favor as the hour before sunset is the most ideal time for photography with its soft, creamy light. There are no permit fees for this location but you will have to pay the small entrance fee upon arrival.

Federal Hill/Inner Harbor (Baltimore, MD)

If an expansive cityscape and iconic Baltimore location appeals to you, Federal Hill and the Inner Harbor are the ideal spot for you. Not only do you get the whole city in your background, you also get the water of the Inner Harbor. This location is particularly beautiful at sunset and is so much fun to walk around as we shoot. It also offers plenty of restaurant offerings if you want to grab a bite to eat afterward.
